A comeback of sorts for Lindsay Lohan. Which I'm glad it looks like she finally has gotten her shit together. Good for her!
This is Netflix's version of a Hallmark Christmas movie. It has all the classic story tropes and a big name in Lohan. Hallmark definitely has a corner audience for their movies, and it looks like Netflix might be trying to go in that same direction.
But just like those Hallmark movies this movie is not good. For the type of movie it is, it's ok. It's a clear rip-off of 'Overboard', the Goldie Hawn/ Kurt Russell movie of the 80's. I highly recommend watching that movie.
The acting is just terrible, which is a shame cause I thought Lohan would at least have a little more clout compared to the no-names in this. Unfortunately that is not the case. There are glimpses of classic Lohan of the past, mostly in the comedic slap-stick scenes. I also liked her interactions with the young actress in the film. I won't be too hard on Lohan since she hasn't acted in quite some time. And maybe this makes sense for her to dip her toe in a movie like this.
I'm glad Lohan has gotten work ,and I could see her making a career out of movies like these. There is a market for them and there are many C-List actresses (DJ from Full House) who just make these types of films. But I think Lohan has more potential and hopefully someone will cast her in a role that she can really shine in.
